1998, Australian Reseller News

Raidar Systems launched the Raidar 1261 Ultra, which it claimed was the world's fastest and smallest RAID system and the only one designed and manufactured entirely in Australia. It housed up to twelve 3.5 inch drives in one footprint, for a total of 108GB, and sold for US$15,000.

I was managing director of Raidar Distribution at the time, and told the magazine that RAID represented a huge, untapped market opportunity for Australian and New Zealand resellers. Reading it back, 108GB for fifteen thousand dollars is a useful reminder of how quickly a market can move underneath you.
